    Janneau Napoleon

It is a Blend of Armagnac aged for a minimum of 10 to 12 years. The white wines are coming from the two regions of Appelation Controlee: Bas Armagnac and Tenareze which are distilled using both the single distilation method (40%) and the double.

Tasting Note

Deep golden amber colour, which reveals it's long maturation. Complex aromas of vanilla and liquorice on the nose. Round and full palate which creates a perfect harmony with a persistent finis which recalls the taste of Agen prunes.

Janneau X.O. Royal

The XO Royal (Extra Old) is a blend of various Armagnacs which have been aged in Gascon black oak and Limousin oak at Janneau's maturation warehouses for a minimum of 12 years and for up to 25 years. Supervised and sampled throughout the long ageing process, the spirits utilized in the XO Royal blend are chosen for their specific superior quality as they represent the best "eaux de vie" coming from the area of Bas Armagnac mainly from the Single Distillation process (80%)

Tasting Note

To the eye its deep golden amber colour showing long maturation is distinguished by its crystalline transparency. On the nose the experience is that of dry fruits and prunes, with aromas of berries and cloves. The end of the glass reveals violets, amplitude, and a long lasting finish.In the mouth, its fullness and roundness creates perfect harmony with a very long finish that reminds of prunes d'Agen. A very decisive personality, perfect maturation and the characteristic taste of "rancio" identify the XO Royal.

Janneau 18 Year Old Single Distillery Armagnac $75/500 ml.

Tasting Note

Deep copper color. Complex aromas of anise cookie, caramel, tarragon, leather, dried apple, and baking spices follow through on a rich entry to a dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with layers of butter roasted nuts, brown sugar,and cigar box notes. Finishes with a long, complex fade with evolving note of spicy ginger, lemongrass, honey, and limestone. A fascinating spirit of the highest order.

  • JANNEAU owns the largest stock of ageing armagnac of the region and of the world.
  • The choice of vintages available is unique to Armagnac, some bottles going back to a century ago. Cognac has only been able to bottle vintages in the last 2 years and has limited availability.
  • Vintages are a minimum 12 years old
  • Vintages at Janneau are the expression of a single year, most commonly of a single cask.
  • Produced exclusively with the single distillation process they are the quintessence of this precious distillate aged over the years.
  • Janneau mentions the bottling date on the label which is most important. Most of our vintages are still ageing in casks and will be bottled on requirement.
