American Whiskies
  US government mandates that American Whiskey is made from a grain mash that is distilled at 90% ABV or less. The whiskey is required to be at least 20% straight whiskey and un-aged neutral spirit or, in a few cases, high-proof light whiskey. Aged for a minimum of 3 years in oak charred barrels at 125 proof (except for corn whiskey, which does not have to be aged in wood.). Bottled at no less than 40% ABV (80 proof).
